Yes. We can work towards a conditional pre-approval before you choose a used car, so you can shop with a clearer budget. We’ll let you know of any conditions. Once you’ve found the car you like, let us know—we’ll take care of the rest.
Can I finance a used car from a private seller?
Yes. Found a car on Facebook Marketplace, carsales or Gumtree? We’ll contact the seller, collect the paperwork and carry out a PPSR check. We also help arrange any existing loan payout and settlement. It’s still worth checking the service history and arranging an independent mechanical inspection.
How old can the car be?
Age limits vary between lenders. We work closely with our lenders to find finance for the car you’ve chosen, including older vehicles where possible. The car’s condition and value, and your circumstances, will also matter.
What should I compare besides the interest rate?
Look at fees, the loan term, total amount repayable, early repayment conditions and any balloon payment—not just the rate or monthly repayment.
What checks should I do before buying a used car?
Consider an independent inspection and check the car’s history, ownership and any finance owing. We explain the documents needed for finance, but that doesn’t replace your own checks on the vehicle.
